Storyteller’s Circle visits Heart’s Content, Newfoundland

Newfoundland has long been known for its legends and storytellers. For one night each summer the St. John’s Storyteller’s Circle moves from its usual location and gathers at “Jack’s old Store” in Heart’s Content. It seemed a fitting backdrop for the yarns spun by master storyteller Dale Jarvis who captured the crowd’s imagination with tales of sea monsters, mermaids and ghosts.

Storytelling is an ancient art. And a good storyteller can keep the audience hanging on every word in a way that Hollywood productions seldom do. We definitely recommend checking out the St. John’s Storyteller’s Circle, normally held in the Crow’s Nest Officer’s Club the second Thursday of each month. It’s a great opportunity to listen to stories, learn about storytelling and maybe even tell one of your own.
