Plane flying over Pertermann Ice Island (PIIa)

We came across this really neat video of the Petermann Ice Island that was taken from a small plane. Seals can be seen atop the massive iceberg which looks to be about the size of Bell Island. The berg broke off from Greenland over a year ago and has been slowly making its way southward. The latest photos from Environment Canada place it east of St. Anthony, Newfoundland.

NASA has some very interesting Earth Observatory photos  of Newfoundland with the iceberg nearby and Environment Canada has a page dedicated solely to tracking the petermann ice island.
